GBE Dear Mark,
GBE is currently trading at 22% below cash backing (That is 10m less 44m in the bank). Whilst I understand that cash is critical for a non-producer, may I suggest a buyback of between 7m and 14m shares at current prices. Less than 5% of issued capital, so not requiring shareholder approval. Current expenditures in total is about $2m a month, on exploration and development and corporate overheads.
GBE is fairly illiquid anyway. To buy back any decent amount of shares would have to be done slowly so as not to artificially push the price up. But as part of an overall strategy (keeping cash on hand for Kanyika, drilling other prospects, other farmins/acquisitions, $1-2m isn't much).

Also bear in mind that the interest we earn on the $42m ($40m by end of Jan.) is approx. $2.1m pa (which would fund the buyback). It is a very modest amount. But it does add value.
It also send a message message to the market about management's belief in GBE's value and says that we are cheap.
Buying back shares, well under cash backing, is always highly value accretive per share.

Cheers
Ken

EUG Dear Peter,
In the latest quarterly report, the Board states that "It is not the intention of the Board that the primary business of Eurogold will be that of a passive portfolio investor". With cash at less than 1 mil with no positive cashflow, what is our general strategy moving forward to capitalise on future investment opportunities. It appears that EUG is fully invested (excluding future capital raising/taking on debt). Will the Board consider divesting its listed investments?
I am very bullish on our investment in DRA, but have reservations in TAM in terms of valuation. I see greater upside and lower risk in DRA with a PE <5.
Thank you for your time in advance.

CRC Hi, congratulations on the announcement today. Just wanted to know if the bank financing is in place (from previous annoucements I understand it was meant to be finalised end of october?) and also when would production start once the last remaining objection is over? Thanks. 1 monopolize 20/12/2011 EDT
USA Hi sorry for my ignorance about uranium mining. But I'm just wondering if grades are important in the ISR method of uranium mining as your forecast costs are not that much higher than the estimates given by Alliance resources which has the much higher grade Four Mile deposit. Thank you for your attention. 1 monopolize 21/11/2011 EDT
QAN Dear Mr Joyce,
Thank you for standing up against the unions for us investors. Whilst we are in pain with the share price (most likely another dose around the corner), we would like to support QAN executive management for making the difficult decision. May I kindly suggest that you "take one for the team" and be so generous as to forego your $2mil payrise, I am sure that would do immeasureable good to the QAN and "Alan Joyce" good name (The attention from the media globally alone would be worth more than the $2m price tag-albeit funded by yourself personally). Thank you for your attention and I wish management all the best in the coming few months.
Your long suffering shareholders.

GNC In general, does Graincorp benefit from rising soft commodity prices? I understand that grain marketing involves hedging to mitigate the risks involved. APN Brett,
APN's performance have been disappointing to say the least. Our share price hit record low last week. I have 2 questions on our recent acquisition. What was the acquisition PE multiple for CC Media, and is Jimungo a profitable business? In the cash flow statement, we paid 3.67m for goodwill and 1.88m for acquisition of controlled entities. Does that refer to the acquisition of both CC Media and Jimungo?
Thank you in advance.

TGR Hi Mark
As a longstanding shareholder and in view of TGR's share price at record lows, I have a few questions for the Company I hope you could address(I understand that the Company is unable to discuss any material information):
1. Do you have a copy of the 2015 Strategic Plan?
2. Given our current depressed share price that is significantly below the $1.90 price target for a Change in Controlling Interest announced in Feb 2011, would the Company reconsider its decision on a change in controlling interest ?
3. Given the stock market crash, this would be a good time for strategic acquisitions - do we have the financial firepower to support an acquisition if there was a potential target?
Many thanks for your response in advance

DRA I think their hedging may not be a bad thing after all - 2012 will see precious metals correct. Though DRA's previous downfall was thanks to hedging gold at $700 /oz! plandau 09/01/2012 EDT
EUG that statement has been in every quarterly report for many years. they are running out of cash - doubt they can do much except ride the gold market via DRA/TAM Friedman 09/01/2012 EDT
DRA essentially partially hedged at $1310 at current EUR/AUD rates - will look smart when gold drops below that level - very unlikely in my view. probably dont have a choice as part of banking requirement. Friedman 09/01/2012 EDT
GBE dont think gbe should do buybacks. they will invariably need to raise capital in the future for development so why spend cash buying back ? plandau 06/01/2012 EDT

PSA Dear Petsec Management,
PSA is curently trading at a significant discount to cash, reflecting the poor sentiment investors have on the Company prospects. Even after going through the company reports, I am still baffled by the upside potential of our assets, the expected expenditure for FY2012(hence downside risk in the short term), and what our forecast cashflow is (Marathon revenue of $2-3m at previous gas prices expected to offset drilling costs?). Could management please provide more information on the above. Thank you in advance.
